It was elegant and joyful, emotional without feeling scripted, and honestly, a dream to photograph.
Getting Ready at St. John’s Resort
Everything happens on-site, which makes the entire day relaxed and seamless. The bridal suite was filled with sunlight and happy chatter. As always, it’s these quiet, in-between moments that I love most—Mom zipping the gown, a best friend adjusting the veil, the deep breath before heading to the chapel. There were hugs, deep breaths, and a few teary eyes as Julie stepped into her dress.
A Ceremony That Feels Grand
Their ceremony took place in the on-site chapel, and wow—it’s stunning. High ceilings, soft natural light, and stained glass add just the right amount of warmth. As someone who has seen a lot of venues, this chapel truly has presence.
Portraits Around the Grounds of Saint John’s Resort
After the ceremony, we stepped outside for portraits—and this is where Saint John’s Resort really shines. Ivy-covered brick walls, hidden corners, and sweeping lawns make it a photographer’s dream.
One little moment I loved: the couple snuck in a quick dance together in one of the gardens while guests made their way to cocktail hour- totally unplanned and totally perfect.
A Reception Full of Opulence and Energy
The reception was classic and candlelit, with grand yet soft florals and tablescapes that matched the timeless feel of the space. What truly made it special, though, were the people—everyone danced, laughed, and celebrated like they meant it. From heartfelt speeches to a packed dance floor, the energy was contagious.
