Your wedding images will last longer than your lifetime. Your albums will become family heirlooms. As part of the most documented generation that has ever existed, it's important to document your piece of history purposefully, authentically, and in a meaningful way for you, your family, and your future generations.

After 17 years and 400+ weddings, I've learned that natural and organic moments are the best! That is why I am a Narrative Wedding Photographer. When documenting your wedding day the end photos should reflect how your day and the moment captured actually felt; that is my ultimate goal! Your photos won't be an assembly lined output of the generic wedding day. They won't feel moody and serious when you were sharing a beautifully happy and joyous moment.

I'm Holly

I am the source of calm
(and humor)
in chaotic situations.

I am an observer; the calm and laid back presence in any given situation. That in itself lends greatly to wedding photography. Weddings are not just about photos of the bride and groom, they're about how the bride and groom naturally interact with one another and with their family and guests as well. Those moments are SUPER important. When shooting I blend classic imagery with editorial style and photojournalism. I place you in an interesting environment, make you feel comfortable with one another, relax, interact, all the while capturing the spontaneous candid moments that happen in between. When it comes to photos of your family and guests I do take the traditional family portraits, however, the remainder of the day I prefer to take candid photojournalistic shots of guests talking, laughing, and smiling. I want you to have fun, be yourself, interact with your loved ones, and let me do the work of documenting these moments you will cherish forever!

It was because of this that I shifted my mindset to not only documenting my couples, but their families as well. When I get a message from a bride or groom saying that a family member passed and thanking me for all the great photos I took of them, the feeling can't be described. It makes my job worthwhile.

"photography isn't about what you've seen on pinterest or instagram. It's about showing people as they are, at this point in their lives, and preserving these meaningful images for generations to come."

It was when my grandma passed away that I realized the true impact of my work. After 65 years of marriage my grandpa sat there holding her hand night and day up until the very end. I took out my camera one night and took a very quick snapshot to document it. Now that both of my grandparents are gone, I look back at that photo, and other photos of them, often.

i was done. beated. passionless. it was time for a change.

My Why

-ELLIOT N.

Like many people, my wife has a tendency to hate every photo of herself. One of her biggest fears was that she wouldn't be able to look at any of our wedding photos and be happy with how she looks. Once Holly sent us a few samples after the engagement shoot, she immediately had those anxieties lifted. The rest of the photos sent confirmed that even further. No payment or online review can express how deeply appreciative I am of Holly for giving my wife some of the first ever pictures of herself that she can really love and feel proud about.

Seeing her reaction to loving a photo of herself was priceless."

Riley and Stephen both worked in Detroit, so it holds a special place in their hearts. Naturally, they wanted to take their engagement photos there! We photographed at the Detroit Library, the Detroit Institute of Arts, Campus Martius, and all around the Downtown Detroit Streets!

Krista and Joe had a fabulous micro wedding at the Shinola Hotel in Detroit, MI. They got ready at Shinola, had their ceremony at St.Anne's in Detroit, and then took wedding photos all around Downtown Detroit, Shinola, the DIA, and ended with their ceremony at the Whitney. It was a whirlwind of a day!
