We always respect the wishes of your guests. Some may be camera-shy, prefer not to have their photos taken, or may want to keep their images private. We’re careful to approach people with respect.
Social Media Sensitivity
In today’s digital age, sharing photos instantly on social media is common, however not everyone is comfortable with it. We encourage couples to have a conversation with their guests beforehand about any preferences regarding social media sharing. On our end we avoid posting any photos of children or linking names to posts. Its also very rare for us to post photos of guests where faces are easily recognizable. When we post we use first names only and often only use initials (or no names at all). With all that we do to ensure privacy and discretion for our wedding photography clients, as the artist and creator of the images we do retain copyrights. So what does that mean? Essentially we own the rights to use your images as we see fit. Yes, that sounds scary at first, but in most cases its nothing to be worried about. We retain these copyrights so that we can use our images on our websites, blogs, social media, and other marketing outlets. Most photographers do give their clients personal rights to the images. This allows them to share the images on their own personal social media pages, print them for family and friends, etc. Here are a few reasons why photographers need to use the images they take at your wedding.
