When I received the email from Kellen about his plan to propose marriage to Emilly on Mackinac Island my immediate answer was, “YES!” When it comes to a marriage proposal, few destinations compare to the timeless elegance and natural beauty of Mackinac Island, Michigan. We immediately got going on the details of where, when, which locations we wanted to photograph at, etc. Ultimately we decided to do it in two parts to throw Emilly off a bit. The actual proposal Kellen wanted to do on the beach, so we planned that for earlier in the day. He proposed, she said YES, and we photographed a bit on the beach in that area. I brought them a special bottle of champagne to share in celebration.
After the proposal, we made our way back to downtown Mackinac Island for a celebratory stop at a quaint ice cream parlor. Kellen and Emilly, basking in the excitement of the moment, enjoyed the relaxed luxury of their surroundings. Afterward, we took a few hours to pause, giving them the opportunity to retreat to their suite, unwind, and prepare for an intimate, high-end dinner later that evening. It was the perfect way to elevate their day of celebration with a touch of sophistication.

We wrapped up the day with Kellen and Emilly enjoying a private dinner, savoring both the intimate setting and the memories of a truly special day.
