Krista and Joe had an absolutely gorgeous and intimate micro wedding at Shinola Hotel Detroit Michigan. Located in the heart of the city, Shinola Hotel is a refreshing and timeless event space in Detroit. The girls got ready in a beautifully designed, spacious suite with a private balcony. The groomsmen got ready in another Shinola suite with enormous windows. Not to mention, it had a spectacular view of the Renaissance Center! You can not ask for a better getting ready space!
Their ceremony was hosted at the Basilica of Ste. Anne de Detroit (informally known as St.Anne’s). St.Anne is hands down one of the most beautiful churches in Detroit! With soaring ceilings, breathtaking stained glass, and a 100 ft. aisle, you can’t find a more memorable space. Ceremony photos taken down the aisle here are breathtaking! Even the exterior of the church lends well to amazing photos.
Due to Covid-19, Krista and Joe’s guest list was quite small, about 14 guests in total. Although small in number, it was definitely not lacking in love! As you look through the photos the absolute joy these two bring to each others lives is apparent. We were not lacking smiles, laughter, tears, and all the affection! After their wedding ceremony we drove back to the Shinola hotel for photos in Parker’s Alley (amazing!). We did first dances in their spacious hotel suites.
Our next stop included some wedding and champagne popping photos at the Detroit Institute of Arts. The exterior of the DIA is such an amazing place for wedding or engagement photos. The grounds of the DIA have a park-like feel and stunning historical architecture. Our final stop was at the Whitney for a small family dinner.
